In June 1988, China Motorcycle Quality Supervision & Testing Institute (Tianjin) was founded.

1993
In 1993, approved by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China Motorcycle Quality Supervision & Testing Institute (Tianjin) started motorcycle inspection.

1998
In 1998, it was renamed Tianjin Motorcycle Quality Supervision & Testing Institute.

In December 1998, it was accredited by the national lab for the first time.

2000
In April 2000, as authorized by China Entry-exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, it undertook the inspection for quality license system of exported motorcycles and safety and quality license system for imported motorcycles and engines.

2001
In March 2001, as authorized by State Environmental Protection Administration of China (SEPA), the institute took on inspection of emission pollution of new motor vehicles.

In April 2001, as approved by the State Economic and Trade Commission, the institute undertook the testing of new motorcycle products.

In May 2001, TMTI was registered as an independent legal person.

In November 2001, our testing ground was put into use, which was the only testing ground in China dedicated to motorcycle and met the requirements of international standards.

On November 16, 2001, as approved by the CNCA, the NMTC(TJ) was established.

2002
In March 2002, as authorized by the CNCA, NMTC(TJ) undertook the mandatory certification test of motorcycles and motorcycle engines.

2005
In August 2005, the center was authorized to inspect the motorcycles and motorcycle engines in small batch imported from Tianjin Port and Dalian Port.

In November 2005, as authorized by the CNCA, our center undertook the mandatory certification test of motor vehicle horns, retroreflective devices, brake hoses, motorcycle lamps and rearview mirrors.

2006
In December 2006, the emission test data of our lab were approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency(USEPA).

2007
In October 2007, the emission test data of our lab were approved by Vietnam Register.

2008
In May 2008, the only motorcycle reliability test road in China was put into use.

2012
In 2012, our company constructed the first road and ancillary facilities for vehicle tire adhesion test on wet road in line with the requirements of European ECE R117.

2013
In October 2013, our center was awarded the Industrial product quality control and technical assessment lab.

In November 2013, our center won the "AAA" credit rating in the machinery industry.

2014
In July 2014, as approved by the CNCA, our mandatory certification testing scope covered the rearview mirror products.

2015
In February 2015, our center joined the China Motor Vehicle Testing and Certification Union, and became the first vice president of the union.

In September 2015, as approved by the CNCA, our mandatory certification testing scope covered the automobile fuel tank product.

2016
In May 2016, our center completed the first motorcycle ABS test road in China.

2018
In July
2018, Jinghai testing ground was approved as announcement testing site of
vehicle product.

2021
In August 2021, it was renamed National Motorcycle Quality Inspection and Testing Center (Tianjin).
